Kevin Harris Obituary

Kevin Duwayne Harris, Age 33 was born October 25, 1985 in Columbus, Ohio, to Pamela Harris and Kevin Waddell, the first of seven children. Kevin proceeded to eternal life by maternal grandparents Henry and Mary Harris, paternal grandparents Emmitt and Josephine Parks, Uncle Howard Harris and cousins Thomas Harris, Juan and Damon Waddell.

Kevin was a special child, a true character and warrior, heck we didn’t find out he was deaf until he was around two years old, until this day it was suspect whether he could hear or speak, especially when he called his grandfather a few choice words at age three, or when he was singing and dancing to songs. Just say he used customized sign language to deal with all of us who could not sign. Then the communication between he and his mother was often hilarious, especially when he didn’t want to do something, it would be hand chopping and voices raised to the hills, he would win because she would call his aunt and drop him off where he never did anything wrong in her eyesight. Kevin graduated as Prom King in 2007 from Ohio School for Deaf in Columbus Ohio. He intermittently lived on the OSD campus from ages 15-22 where he learned many skills, which includes horticulture and techniques in artistry. Outside of working for Vocational Guidance Services he was master of selfies and king on social media transforming regular pictures to custom artwork. Kevin is known for his smile, it was contagious, even while he battled through seven major surgeries in less than a year, he still found moments to make you laugh, giving you encouragement while he suffered silently.

Leaving to treasure his memory are his parents Pamela Harris and Kevin Waddell, brothers, Demetrius, Christopher Sr., Alandice (India), Brandon (Crystal); sisters Kayonna and Shantell; paternal grandparents Patricia Waddell and Dwayne (Jo) Waddell; Kevin did not have any children, but loved his nieces Demetriona, Alaina, Demyra, Aniyah, Ahlonnie and Adrienne; nephews Christopher Jr. Chrishawn, Deangelo, Brandon Jr and Demetrius Jr.; Aunts: Brenda, Bonnie (Johnnie), Karen, and Toyna (Dwight); Uncles: Stan (India), Shawn, Mark (Teresa), and Keith (Sonja). Great Uncles John (Florence) Booker, Isaac and William Green; Great Aunts Georgia Booker, Alma Booker, Joanne Green, Claire Green, Molly Brown, Jackie Reed, Teresa Robinson and Barbara Penn. Let us not leave off his Best Friends Forever which are his host of cousins whom he constantly shared a joke or two with. Don’t despair if your name is not here, know that it is too many to name, but the love is all the same.
