Michael Robinson

Michael West Robinson, was born on Friday, July 18, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio, one of six children to Lillie and Emmanuel Robinson.  He was a resident of Florida where he worked for Miami-Dade community college and Bush Gardens. He later worked for Delta Airlines at Port Columbus and started working for FedEx back when it was known RPS, while working there, he got his diploma and attended Columbus Technical Institute (Columbus State).

Michael is preceded in death by son Michael Jr.; parents Lillie and Emmanuel Robinson; siblings Shirley Reid, Robert Robinson, Emmanuel Robinson, and Ronald Robinson; niece Lillie Reid.

He leaves to cherish his memory, sister Veronica Jennings; partner and caretaker Angela Robinson; daughter Shawanna Lewis; son Todd Simmons; step-daughter Ashley Tolliver; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; special friends Dayle Boyce and Larry Duncan; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

We will miss how Mike would make jokes and keep us all laughing; being with him was pure fun. He was a generous man and never wanted to see those he loved suffer or be without. He had a laid-back nature, was an expert grill master (rain or shine, four inches of snow, it didn’t matter), watching the World Wrestling Federation, and enjoyed fishing with his family and friends. Most of all he loved his children and grandchildren and would do anything for them. You were truly blessed if you knew “Miguel”.

“Gone Fishing”

I’ve finished life’s chores assigned to me, so put me on a boat headed out to sea.

Please send along my fishing pole for I’ve been invited to the best fishing hole.

Where every day is a day to fish, to fill your heart with every wish.

Don’t worry, or feel sad for me, I’m fishin’ with the Master of the sea.

We will miss each other just for a while, but you will come shortly bringing your smile.

That won’t be long you will see, till we’re together you and me.

To all of those that think of me, be happy as I go out to sea.

If others wonder why I’m missin’, just smile and tell ‘em.…Mike has gone fishin’!
