Some people only walk this earth for a short time and their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. Alesia Raye Richardson, age 76, rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings as she departed this life at Riverside Methodist Hospital of Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. She was born on January 13, 1947, to parents William Freddie and Mae Frances Green who preceded her in death. Alesia was also preceded in death by sister, Etta Mae Dillard; brother, William “Butch” Green; and son, Marcus A. Richardson.
Alesia graduated from John Marshall H.S., class of June 1965, Chicago, Illinois. She also attended Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio, and Hondros College for Real Estate. Alesia, with her feisty but compassionate and loving spirit, devoted many years as a Manager at AT&T of Worthington, Ohio, and retired with thirty-three years of service. She was also a realtor for fifteen years. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, and unselfishly helping others. Alesia boasts about her love of strawberries, butterflies, and her two favorite grands, Benjamin and Nykia. Alesia was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and auntie, who was always there when we needed her. She also had many family friends and other people that considered her a surrogate mother, grandmother, or auntie, and she was a well-loved member of the community of Jack Pine for one month short of 46 years
She leaves to cherish her memory: loving daughter, Nychola Richardson of Canal Winchester, OH; son, Robert A. Richardson of Canal Winchester, OH; two grandchildren from her daughter, Benjamin Fort and Nykia Fort; one great-granddaughter, Sevyn Reed; two loving nieces, Michelle (Wakeen) Dillard Ponds of Denver, CO, and Ebony (Douglas, Sr.) McDonald of Columbus, OH; one nephew, Ammon Green of Las Vegas, NV; three grandnieces, Amyca, Brionna, and Akeena; three grandnephews, Michael, Jr., Douglas, Jr., and Wakeen, Jr.; honorary daughters, Linda Fitzgerald and Natasha Lalla, step-granddaughter, Dijone Imani Jackson; step-grandson, Eddie Johnson; step-great-granddaughters, Amari and Aria; longtime friends, Shirley Holmes, Barbara Scott, LaVonda Fountaine, and Margie Harrell-Young; and a host of other loving relatives and faithful friends
