ALEXANDER “ALEY AL” MCCRARY was called home on Monday, November 10, 2025. Alex was born on July 31, 1977, in Columbus, Ohio, to Robert and Voncile McCrary.
Alex graduated from Independence High School with the class of 1995. While attending Independence, he discovered his passion for barbering, a gift that would shape his life’s work and his impact on the community.
For more than 25 years, Alex was the proud owner of Profilers Designer Cuts, where his skill as a barber and his love for entrepreneurship touched countless lives. His shop was more than a business; it was a gathering place filled with laughter, friendship, and care. Beyond barbering, Alex also pursued real estate, reflecting his drive and dedication to building opportunities for himself and others.
Alex was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He cherished being surrounded by family and friends, and his greatest joy was found in the
bonds he nurtured with those closest to him. Having devoted his life to Christ at an early age, Alex lived with faith and integrity, inspiring those around him with his example.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Voncile McCrary.
Alex leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Shaton McCrary; father, Robert (Carolyn) McCrary; children, JaKeiya, Cedric, Camron, A’Zaya, and Averi; grandchildren, Cedric Jr., Carmelo, and DaZayiah; siblings, Monica Parks, Frederick McCrary, and Robin “Peaches” McCrary; nephew, Dominique Artis; close friends, George Reese, Derrick Bailey, and Calvin Thomas, Jr.; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nephew and nieces, godchildren, and a host of other extended family and dear friends.
Alex’s legacy is one of love, faith, and community. His memory will live on in the lives he touched, the family he cherished, and the countless stories shared by those who knew him best.
