Alvin Thomas Meek, Jr., age eighty of Knoxville, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Alvin was born August 27, 1942, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Alvin T. Meek, Sr., and the late Amelia Satterfield-Meek.
Growing up as a young child, Alvin loved playing marbles and baseball (where he was the pitcher), both resulting in several championships throughout the years. He also had a love for cars. Alvin attended Austin High School after afterwards, he enlisted in the United States Army, stationed in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, where he became an expert rifleman. Alvin loved his family! He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, and playing cards, most of all, he enjoyed life.
Alvin was preceded in death by his father, Alvin T. Meek, Sr.; mother, Amelia Satterfield-Meek; paternal grandparents, Edward Meek and Viola Coleman; and maternal grandparents, Bart Satterfield, Sr., and Annie Cox-Satterfield. Left to cherish his memories: Michelle (Benjamin) Fletcher-Shelby, Angela (Anthony) Horne, Lynn (Valerie Britton) Meek, Alvin T (Ronessa) Meek III, and Cicily (Tyrone) Ushry; grandchildren, Micaleb Shelby, Deonte (Kisa) Gillispie, Brittney Horne, Brandy Horne, Jealisa Horne, Alvin T. Meek IV, Aron Meek, Alexis Meek, Destany Crawford, Aaliyah Mccane, Keiara Meek, Kyron Meek, and Keon Meek; and a host of great-grandchildren.
