Andre Richards Obituary

Andre “Dre Luv” Paul Richards was born in Columbus, Ohio, on November 18, 1975, to Helen Kelly and Lloyd Richards. As a child, he attended Heyl Elementary, Yorktown Middle School, Sherwood Middle School, and Walnut Ridge High School.

Andre was born and raised in Ebenezer Baptist Church under the late Reverend L.C. Brown.  He stopped attending church regularly as he grew older but recommitted his life back to God at his nephew’s homegoing celebration in 2014. Dre was very passionate about his family. He had no issue with setting the record straight when it involved his family. No matter how much he enjoyed life he always took the time for family and make sure he expressed his love in only the way he could. Andre has two beautiful grandchildren that he was crazy about.  Andre was a natural ladies’ man. His Character and appearances made him very cocky, and he lived his life in that manner. He was literally the LIFE of the party. Andre said what he meant and meant what he said. He was a very bold and outspoken person. It was just his nature; he had a way with his words.

Andre worked several jobs throughout his life and enjoyed each of them in their own way. He also had a passion for animals. Some would call him “Dre Hannah” because he has owned and cared for several different animals. Dogs, Lizards, Snakes, Alligators, Fish and Ferrets. He could take a mean dog and retrain him in a matter of days to follow commands and not need a leash.

Andre unexpectedly transitioned from the physical life on February 8, 2023. He was 47 years old.

Andre is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Kelly; grandmothers, Ruth Kelly, and Sally Richards; grandfather, Paul Kelly; sisters, Althea “pooh” Kelly, Andrea “Drea” Richards, and Dawn “DJ” Jones; nephews, Adonis “Baby AJ” Dalton II, Ricky “Lil Rick” Darthard; aunt, Ann Tynes; and uncle, Elmer Richards.
