Anthony Buckmon

On September 25, 2022, Anthony Buckmon took his final breath. The world welcomed Anthony on November 23, 1967, in Bronx, New York, and he lived 54 years full of love and friendship.  Anthony grew up in South Carolina and graduated from Barnwell High School. After school, he joined the United States Army in 1988 and served until 1996.  Anthony was passionate about music, and he shared his love for singing both in the church and with his three children. He also loved poetry, and the poems that he wrote will continue to breathe life into his memory.

Anthony was preceded in death by his daughter, Ayani Joy Buckmon; mother and father, Martina Barnes and William P. Buckmon, Jr.; grandfather, William P. Buckmon, Sr.; and grandmother, Willemina Buckmon.

Anthony is survived by: two of his children, Aryah Martina Buckmon of Decatur, Georgia, and Anthony-Andrew Asayrah Buckmon of Columbus, Ohio; as well as his siblings, Cassandra Buckmon-Bokknight and William Buckmon, both of Barnwell, South Carolina, Sule Thompson and Nawana Barnes, both of Bronx, New York, and Tricia Buckmon of Augusta, Georgia.

Anthony will be greatly missed and fondly remembered, but our family is grateful to know that he is resting and at peace.
