Blaine Hairston Obituary

Blaine Lavell Hairston, Jr., was born on January 11, 1972, to Deborah Hairston and Blaine L. Hairston, Sr., in Powhatan, West Virginia. When he was a young boy, he moved to Columbus, Ohio, in 1973, where he would be educated in the Columbus Public school system. He was in the gifted and talented program and was very smart. He was way beyond his years and many would comment about how brilliant he was.

He had a huge heart and absolutely loved his family. He loved his grandchildren whom he held in high esteem. He would attend many family gathering and would often play cards, cook, and enjoyed eating.  He truly thought he was a world-class chef. He loved to write and loved to sing. It was nothing for him to break out with a medley of songs. He was the epitome of laughter and was the life of any and every party.  He had the ability to light up any room and shift the atmosphere with his positive demeanor.

He adored being a protector and making sure his family was taken care of. Words can’t begin to explain how he loved his mother. He started every day off by calling her to say I love you and make sure she was OK. She was the queen of his heart. He always admired her strength and the love that she showered him with.

He was an entrepreneur and recently started a dump truck business and worked on gaining contracts to help make sure he was financially independent.

He was preceded in death by his father, Blaine L. Hairston, Sr.; grandmothers, Virginia Hairston and Elaine Rucker; grandfathers, John Ellis Hairston and Robert Lee Hairston; brother-in-law, Keith “40” Davis; and nephew, Jeremiah Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Deborah Hairston; children, Da’jon Hairston, Nygel Hairston, Virginia “Lainey” Horton, Hannah Miller, and T’Vonte Banks; grandchildren, Hendrix
Hairston, Niasia Hairston, Peyton Hairston, Levi Hairston, Beau Hairston, Emerson Hairston, and Barret Hairston; sisters, Lisa Hairston and Latasha Hairston; brother, Michael Lawrence; nieces, Tatiauna ”Nonnie” Hairston and Tanaisha Hairston; nephews, Harold Sullivan III, Keithy Davis, Jayden Hairston, Angelo Goodrich, and Anthony “TJ” Williams; brother-in-law, Anthony “Tone” Williams; special great-nephew, James “Champy” Miller; special friends, Mike Dennis, Greg Ray, and Juan Booker; and a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives, and many, many friends too numerous to name.
