Brenda Jeanne Hairston

Brenda Jeanne Hairston, age 69, passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Melvin Eugene Hairston Sr., her children, Jeffery DuWayne Hairston, Dimitra Celeste Hairston, TeNiqka Lanette Hairston, her beloved granddaughter, Keyante Jeanne Slaughter, and her husband Bruce Lavon Slaughter, and a cherished great-grandchild, Myles Elijah Slaughter. Along with a host of brother and sister-in-law’s, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her eldest child, Melvin Eugene Hairston Jr., who will forever remain in our hearts.

Brenda dedicated herself to her career as a computer programmer with the Department of Administrative Services, finding immense pride in her work.  Outside of her professional life, she found solace and joy in her faith, spending cherished moments reading the Bible and worshiping the Lord.

Her passion for life extended beyond her work and faith. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, painting, drawing, music, and exploring new places during family trips. Brenda served as the matriarch of her family, providing a strong foundation and unwavering support to those she loved.

As we celebrate the life of Brenda, let us remember the moments of joy she shared, the love she gave, and the memories she created. Her life reminds us to cherish each day and the people we hold dear. May her legacy inspire us to appreciate our own lives and the blessings that surround us.
