Calvin Barker

Our beloved CALVIN COOLIDGE BARKER, known by his North Carolina family as “Cal”, peacefully transitioned on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.  Calvin was born in Mocksville, Carolina, on November 8, 1923, to Tobe Barker, Sr., and Maude Dix-Barker.

Calvin was well known in Columbus, Ohio. He was employed at the Bryden Community Building and the Columbus Cadillac Company. He was a hustler, and he loved women!

Calvin has now reunited with his father, Tobe Barker and mother, Maude Dix-Barker; wife, Shirley Barker; brothers, Charles Barker, Willie Herman Barker, Andrew Barker, Jasper Barker, and Toby Barker (Coot); sisters, Ina Barker, Ada Barker-Williams, Rosie Barker-Carter, and Alma Woodard-Delin; sons, Robert Harrison, William Barker (Fuzzy), and Mark Barker; daughters, Ann Barker and Teresa Carter; grandchild, Earl Jesse Harris III; and great-grandchildren, Zyshonne Jenkins and Talon’Dre Barker.

Calvin leaves to cherish his memories, sons, James Barker, John Barker, Steve Howell, Homer (LaShalle) Johnson, Ricky Richardson, and daughters, Ann Barker, Bridget Barker, Tiffany Barker, and Karla Barker. Also cherishing his memory will be many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
