Calvin Floyd Berry Sr. was born to Wilbur and Jennie Berry in Columbus, Ohio on December 9, 1960. He gained his angel wings on October 26, 2021 at 7:44 p.m. He was known as Big Dude, Unc, Killa Cal, Coach Berry and Big Cal. He was preceded in death by his mother Jennie Berry, older brother Wilbur Berry Jr and his oldest brother.
As a youth he gained a passion for competing in sports. A passion that carried into adulthood where he coached for 30+ years. Over the past 30+ years he coached for the Eastland Vikings, Central Ohio Pirates, and Capital City Comets. He enjoyed football, basketball, and track and field the most.
He was a lifelong member of Wesley Church of Hope United Methodist Church. As an adult he retired from Grant Medical Center.
He was survived by a very loving wife Lisa "First Lady & Maya", daughter Kalista "KB", sons Brian "B", Calvin Jr "Lil Cal" (Sherritta), and Alphonzo "Fonze". Including grandchildren Calvin Mikiel, Aaliyah, Cal’Veyonne, Key’shawn. Along with brother Arthur "Tub", sisters Pearlie "PJ", Sharon, Diane (Hoarce), Leslie and father Wilbur Sr. Additionally he was survived by a plethora of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
He was a big character with an enormous personality and huge heart. He will be truly missed.
