Carolyn Jones

Carolyn Louise Jones, was born in Columbus, OH, on December 08, 1950.  She passed away in Los Angeles, California on August 26, 2022 at the age of 71. She was born to the proud parents of George Jones Sr. and Ursla (Earsline) Holmes and was the second sibling of ten children. 

Carolyn Louise Jones had exceptional beauty at a young age.  She was gorgeous, naturally, in physical beauty. Her natural beauty was always recognized and acknowledged from everyone at school, at church, or out in the public. She received compliments on how exceptionally pretty she was naturally.

Carolyn, also in her youthful years was independent and strong, assertive, confident, and determined.  She loved going to school, learning and becoming knowledgeable.  Being educated was strongly influenced by her school teachers, parents, and church.   Carolyn had exceptional intelligence that was noticed and spoken of by people everywhere she went.

She achieved strong academics in high school and in college.  She graduated from South High School in Columbus, Ohio, where she received certificates in I.O.E. and C.O.E. secretarial schooling, at a time when vocational classes offered secretarial courses as a professional occupation for employment after graduation. She also attended The Ohio State University to further her education.  She enjoyed utilizing her talents working in positions as a front office clerical as well as being a personal secretary for a variety of business firms throughout her employment. 

Carolyn loved the Lord her Savior Jesus Christ.  She received the baptism in Jesus name and on March 5, 1967 received the precious Holy Ghost under the founder Bishop Karl Francis Smith, at the Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith, 1200 Brentnell, Columbus, Ohio 43219, known as Brentnell Church. 

Carolyn married and divorced. Carolyn had only one child.  A beloved son, named T.J. Italian Lamar Jones. Later, Carolyn moved from Columbus, Ohio, Franklin County to Los Angeles, California in her early thirties where she maintained her residency for the past 40 years. 

Carolyn had desired to be at home with the Lord Jesus. The Lord Jesus dispatched an Angel to take Carolyn home to heaven when she took her last breath on August 23, 2022. 

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Father, George Jones, Sr., Mother, Ursla (Earsline) Holmes-Jones Shields, Sisters, Tamara “Tammy” Jones-Watkins and Karen Cynthia Jones (Johnson) and her son, T.J. Italian Lamar Jones.  Carolyn is survived by her siblings George Jones, Jr. (Lawton, Oklahoma), Loretta Scott (Gahanna, Ohio), Evangelist Vanessa (McQuiller) Jones (Pickerington, Ohio), Alan Jones (Douglasville, Georgia), Mary Ann Madison (Los Angeles, California), and Christopher Jones (Columbus, Ohio), Phillip “Elias Khidhr” Jones (Alabama).  She leaves to cherish her memory of loving relatives and friends. 

In loving memory of Carolyn Louise Jones, and in honor of the good we saw in her and the love we felt from her, we are all grateful and thankful for the full life that Carolyn Louise Jones lived. Her Memorial Funeral Day will be held at Affinity Memorial Chapel, 855 Nelson Road, Columbus, OH 43219 on August 26, 2024 at 10:00 am and directly after the intermit held at Eastlawn Cemetery, 1340 Woodland Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43219.
