Cheryl Ann Smith

Cheryl Ann Smith, 62, was born February 23rd, 1960, in Portsmouth, Ohio. She departed this life, to her eternal home on December 28th, 2022.

Cheryl grew up in the Greater Emmanuel Organization under Quandel L. Wilson. Her and the family later moved to Columbus, Ohio where she remained until her passing.
She was a proud graduate from East High School Class of 1979, where she was named Female Vocalist of The Year. Because of her God given instrument, Cheryl sang back-up for The Hawkins Family, Richard Smallwood, and many more. She returned after 35 years with the State of Ohio Department of Taxation. Besides singing, she loved crocheting, sewing, family time and her worship time with God.

Cheryl was a wonderful and kindhearted person, never met a stranger that she did not greet with that huge smile of hers. That smile would light up any room she was in, and she always found the
silver lining in any bad situation.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother Viola Dabney, father Alto Byrd, sister Norma Jean, brother Ricardo (Chief) and numerous family and friends.
She leaves to honor her life: children Dimitruis Smith of Newark, Ohio, Matthew and Bailee Smith of Columbus, Ohio; sister Karen (Jimmy) Paulin , brothers: Roy (Cynthia) Dennis of
Columbus, Ohio and John (Angela) Dennis of Oceanside, California. Grandchildren: Dimitruis Jr., Kawon, Dimira, Jayce, Olivia and Layla. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousin and friends. Special friends: David Smith (children’s father), Haile family, Matthewsfamily, and the Naphier/Shepherd families.
