DANIEL SCISSUM, SR., also known as “DEZZY,” 35, gained his wings on July 8, 2021.
He was born on January 3, 1986, son of Deborah Jenkins Scissum and Robert Jennings, Sr., in Youngstown, Ohio. He moved to Columbus, Ohio, with his family on April 3, 2001. He enjoyed watching sports and playing sports. He was a huge movie-head. He could recite any movie. Daniel was a diehard Steelers, Michigan, and Lakers fan. He worked at Po’mans Painters with his brothers. He started MDS Cleaning Company with his wife, Myeisha Scissum. He married on September 8, 2007, and had five children.
Daniel had a heart of gold. He loved everyone he came in contact with. He got to accomplish one of his childhood dreams, to make it to Florida and go to Disney. Uncle David took him and their princesses on June 26, 2021. ey had a great time with their daughters. He had a smile that would light up any room. His laugh was so contagious that when he laughed you couldn’t help but laugh too.
Daniel was preceded in death by: grandparents, James and Caroline Jenkins; great- grandmother, Mary Jennings; nephew, Germaine Johnson; niece, Janet Purdue; and best friends, Tabyus Chappell and Jon-Te Gray.
He leaves to cherish his memories: ve children, Daniel Jr., Nathaniel, Josaiah, Jeremyah, and Niley Gail of Chillicothe, Oio; mother, Deborah Jenkins-Scissum of Columbus, Ohio; father, Robert Jennings of Cleveland, Ohio; siblings, Nathaniel (Terrica) Jenkins, Wanda Scissum, Christopher Purdue, Shalonda (Shoe Shoe) Scissum of Columbus, Ohio, Robert Jr. (Jernyce) Jennings, T-Rodney (Shaevion) Ollie, Shanell Purdue of Youngstown, Ohio, and Nicol (Kam) Morgan of Houston, Texas; Aunt Carol and Uncle David Jenkins, who helped raise him; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
