Danny Clark Obituary

Obituary Danny Kaye Clark “Duno” was born Sunday, February 5, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio, to David Sr. and Arlena (Brown) Clark. He was the third eldest child. He was filled with joy and always had a pleasant disposition.

During his elementary years, he attended Columbus Public Schools and he also attended one year at Ephesus Junior Academy. His high school years were spent at Linden McKinley. He chose to follow the Lord early in his life and was baptized into the Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist church. He later joined the Hilltop Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Danny worked at Kinnear Company, Defense Construction Supply Center (DCSC). He also painted and did construction work, and he renovated houses until he retired from that career in 2013. However, he continued working in some capacity until he was no longer able to do so.  Mr. Clark was what one would consider a “jack-of-all-trades” and liked to tinker with all things electronic, fix cars and keep them looking clean, as well as working in his yard, keeping the lawn perfectly manicured.

Danny also enjoyed music. Earth, Wind and Fire was one of his favorite groups, and his favorite song by them was “Fantasy,” but he really liked all types of music.  While attending Linden McKinley High School, he started hanging around the locker of one Catherine E. Hammonds. They soon began dating and were married on March 14, 1970. He tenderly cared for his wife for many years, as she became sick in the early years of their marriage. The couple just celebrated 55 years of matrimony. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

Danny Clark is survived by his wife, Catherine; children, April (Moussa Niang) Thomas, Felix (Natsuko) Hanks, Lora Nelson all from Columbus, Ohio, and Leslie (William) Felder of Covington,
Georgia; grandchildren, Teena Clark, Lonnie Hale, T’Mara Clark (Ken) Harris, Cedrick Hanks, and Wynton Nelson; great-granddaughter, Laiona Clark; and great-great-grandson, Ahguesst Martin, all from Columbus, Ohio; siblings, David, Jr. (Doris) Clark, James Clark, Ricky (Kathleen) Clark, Dmitri (Priscilla) Clark and Portia Gonzalez-McDade; brothers-in-law, Thomas, Ronald, Bruce, and Timothy Hammonds; sister-in-law, Christine Hammonds; and a host of relatives and friends all from Columbus, Ohio; uncles, Samuel “Sonny” (Erma) Brown of Tifton, Georgia, and Anthony (Sidnetta) Brown of Kennesaw, Georgia; aunt, Cora (Fleming) Albertie of Jacksonville, Florida; a host of cousins, nephews, and nieces from Florida, Georgia, New York and Kentucky; special friends, Claudia Thornton, Tyrone Malone, and Lola Winkfield; family, Rony Amlicar; and the Thomas Jackson Family.
