Darez' Duff Obituary

Dareź Ricardo Duff (also known as Reź) was born on July 29, 2001, in Columbus, Ohio, to Joan Bailey and Darryl Duff, Sr., at Grant Hospital. His father passed away when he was around one. However, he always had good people who were placed in his life to help guide and nurture him. He was very respectful in return for the support and encouragement they provided him through his formative years. He often spent time with other men, including his God Dad, Michael, who taught him the value of remaining family oriented.

He attended Parsons Avenue, Maybury, and Moller Elementary School. His teachers would describe him as an active, rambunctious, silly, smart, goofy, and a class-clown type of youth. Reź played football from the age of five to his middle school years in little league football. He enjoyed video gaming. He attended Buckeye Middle School.

He attended high school at Marion Franklin and South High School. At each school he attended, he gained more and more popularity. He was so popular in the South end; everyone knew him, and he couldn’t attend North Side Schools because he would get put out for his notoriety. He was a jokester and would do things to be funny. He had a great sense of humor. Everything he did was out of love and was very entertaining.

He was determined to work and couldn’t wait until he turned 16. While working, he was never late because he was determined to get that money.
During his high school years, he moved to Henderson, Nevada, for eleventh and twelfth-grade. While there, he attended school before returning to Columbus during his twelfth-grade year. He was to complete his GED while in Pickaway and Lebanon facilities.

He always had a bright smile and would always stay positive. He was brave and very smart. He was a math wizard and extremely tech savvy and could figure out any challenge. Reź loved fashion and photography. He was very handsome and well-groomed, and he prided himself on that. He wore his signature long dreads and never cut his hair, since he was a baby, until 2021.
He loved music and would often listen to Quando Rondo and King Von. He was also quite the lyricist himself. He enjoyed shopping for the perfect fit. It had to be matching, as he was very detailed with his fashion flair. He was very generous and was not stingy. If he had it, he would give it to you. He was very giving, not necessarily with just money, but he spent time helping others. There was a time where a young friend had a fire and lost everything. Reź donated his clothes and jewelry to them. This was the type of child he was because he didn’t care about the material things. Reź cared about helping someone in need.

He would definitely get money and was into getting “free money.” He started a marketing trend on social media called “free money.” He studied and mastered it and introduced his  family and friends to promote and market it. He was brilliant, and wherever he went, he left his mark. He was known on social media as an influencer, and people enjoyed watching and reading his Instagram and stories.

He was loyal to those that were loyal to him. He was the best big brother and very protective over his family. He understood the importance of priorities and what was important in life. He always looked at the bigger picture. He wanted to grow and be better. He was a leader, and he wanted to show people that he had matured.
He didn’t take “no stuff” off anybody and was not afraid to speak his mind and tell people what it is. He did not intimidate easy, and he stood up for his family first and foremost.
Darez passed unexpectedly on April 3, 2022, at Atrium Medical Center. Although his physical presence is no longer, the legend of him will be spoken of forever.

He was preceded in death by his father, Darryl Duff, Sr.; grandfather, Samuel Lightner, and aunt, Serena Bailey.

Reź is forever cherished and remembered by: his mother, Joan (Michael) Johnson; special God Mom, Lesley Council; great-grandmother, Elizabeth Bailey; grandmothers, Christine Bailey and Olivia Duff; brothers, Darryl Duff, Jr., Demajhe Johnson, Damontez Bailey, Demontae Johnson, and Damarvion Bailey; sisters, Natayia Duff, Demiyah Johnson, Amiamor Johnson, and Dream Johnson; nieces, Jurnayia Gooch and Jermyiah Gooch; nephews, SaQuon Duff and Jurdon Gooch; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and a special uncle, Ricky Hill.
He will be missed by those who were privileged to love and know him. Long live DAREZ and “free money
