David Person

David Thomas Person was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 15, 1955 to Florence Ella Hall Almond Person Caldwell and Joseph Lewis Person, Jr of Pataskala, OH. David was the oldest of four children. David was raised mostly by his grandparents, Peyton Sr. and Anna Mae Almond in Blanche Addition. He starred in basketball his sophomore year at Licking Heights High School. He then joined the U.S. Navy but was given an honorable discharge after suffering an injury in basic training. David held many jobs. He was a truck driver for the 3 Musketeers & Dad Refuse & Container Service for 10 years or more. He also worked several years as roofer.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Peyton, Sr. and Anna Mae Almond; his parents, Joseph and Florence Person Caldwell; his stepfather's, Ray Jones, Sr. and Nathan Caldwell, his brother, Raymond Jones, Jr.; his special uncle, Tony Almond. David is survived by his daughter, Brandy Person; his son, Brandon (Yasilda) Person; his sisters, Cynthia Goddard and Rhonda (Alex) Raglin.; his special uncles, Peyton Almond, Jr. and Al (Lynn) Almond, Sr.; his grandchildren, Briana, Dominque, Anthony, Cierra, Ebon, Makala, Jeniya and Sariah; great grandchildren, Aniyjah, Aveion, Rocco and Kai’ori; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. David Thomas Person left this life on 6/30/23 (on his mother’s birthday). He will be missed and loved by all who knew him.
