Jackie Tyrone Doodley Sr, the son of late Harry Gordon & Loretta Brownlow Gordon was born in Logan, West Virginia on December 9, 1944. He transitioned September 24, 2021 living a blessed life of 76 years.
Jackie attended Columbus Public Schools, East High School & eventually enlisted in & served in the US Army where he also fought in the Vietnam War & was honorably discharged. In addition, Jackie retired from the City of Columbus & as well was amongst Columbus’s Favorite & Highly recommended bus drivers for Lakefront Lines Charter Bus Services. Jackie was a faithful servant of the Lord & served as a Deacon & Loyal Member of Victorious Life Christian Center.
Jackie was a good mentor to both young & wiser & touched the hearts of everyone he encountered near & far. A strong advocate of giving back to the community, he also enjoyed & was faithful to visiting the sick & shut-ins as well as nursing homes.
Jackie, a recent Cancer Survivor, was a family man & enjoyed spending time with his children & showing support for his grandchildren. He enjoyed bowling on the league. He also loved card games, puzzles, reading the paper & Bible scriptures. A TRUE Cleveland Browns fan till the end, Jackie also loved to travel & cook but ultimately, he loved fishing & camping out on the campgrounds in his camper with his wife living the retiree lifestyle with good friends & fellowship, yet, not allowing it to have him miss out on Sunday Service back in the city.
Preceded in death by brothers Herbert Morris & William Gordon & grandson De’Monte Rayford Sr., all of Columbus, OH.
He Leaves to mourn wife Charlotte Doodley; Children: Jacqueline Doodley, Lesley Hightower, Milita Lee, Jackie Doodley Jr.(Mary) & Abathia Teage(Darrell), all of Columbus, OH; 15 Grandchildren: Tierra Lee, David Houston, Lamonte Doodley, Treyon Lee, William McCarey, Talik Lee, Maliya Doodley, Tre’Monte Rayford , Nicholas Williams, Mylah Doodley, MiKayla Deese, Jackie Doodley III, Julia Doodley & MyKell Deese; 9 Great Grandchildren & Special Buddies: Elder Mathis Kleckley(Toni) & Tom Senft all of Columbus, OH.
