Deborah (Debbie) Elaine Simmons was born on May 25, 1957, in Columbus, Ohio, at Ohio State University Hospital. She departed this life on November 6, 2024, at the age of sixty-seven years old, following a courageous battle with breast and ovarian cancer.
Debbie worked at Ohio Health for over forty-five years. She graduated from South High School and attended the University of Cincinnati. Her hobbies were shopping and keeping up with current events, and she loved caring for her two Shih Tzus (Charlie and Gabby).
Debbie was a mother to Derrick, Roderick, and Amari and a grandmother to Kiara, Jaedon, and Brilee. She was preceded in death by her father, Julian Simmons; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Janie Jenkins; and paternal grandparents, Cleveland and Maybelle Simmons. In addition to being survived by her children and grandchildren, she leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Esther Simmons; siblings, Don Simmons, Judy Simmons-Frazier (Lloyd Frazier), St. Julian Simmons (Vanessa Simmons), and Gwendolyn Simmons-Fells; nieces and nephews, Derek, Julian Bradley Simmons, Nigel Frazier, Kristen Fells, Jordan Fells, Dana Frazier, Justin Simmons, Jasmine Simmons, and Monique Frazier; and long-time college friend, Bernice Cochran.
