Debra Harris Obituary

Debra Jean Harris was called home on March 29, 2024, at St. Anns Hospital. Debra was born February 15, 1958, in Madison, West Virgina. She was the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Wanda Harris. She was preceded in death by her sister, June Harris; brother, Curtis Harris; and her grandson, Brandon Russell, Jr.

Debra received her education at Scott High School in Madison, West Virgina. She attended Marshall University, where she received her degree in applied science. Debra worked at Logan General Hospital for several years until she relocated to Columbus, Ohio. She pursued a career with Verizon as a customer loyalty specialist. Debra retired from Verizon in August of 2023 to spend more time with her family.

Debra spent most of her time with her daughter and two grandsons. Whether she was taking them to and from school, watching her grandson, Darius, participate in sporting events, or taking them on outings, she was complete just being with them. After being in Worthington, Ohio, for over a decade, Debra began attending St. Johns A.M.E. church with her grandson, Darius.

Debra is survived by: her daughter, Brittney Harris; beloved grandsons, Darius Harris and Brannon Russell; two sisters, Janet Ennis and April Harris; two brothers, John Harris and Willie Hamilett; six nieces, Frances, Kira, Octavia, Taylor, and Acacia; three nephews, Michael, Jason, and Keith; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends turned family who adored her.
