Denise Richey

Denise Richey, age 67, passed away peacefully December 28, 2020 due to end stage kidney disease. She was born March 17, 1953 in Youngstown, Ohio to Haywood Smith and Dorothy Richey.

Denise’s love for the Lord was unsurpassed. She deeply enjoyed attending Sunday school, church services, and special events. She was a very active member in her church.  Denise loved to love on people and make sure that they were fed. She was known in her family for her skills in the kitchen. She loved when family and friends would request one of their favorites from her.

For many years Denise worked at General Motors in Lordstown. After retiring she became a foster parent because of her love for children.  She was a foster parent to over fifty children.  In 2001 she relocated to Columbus, Ohio in search of better opportunities for her children.

Denise is survived by her children, Tracie Richey, Krateecka Richey, Latrell Richey, and Keith Richey, all of Columbus, Ohio; granddaughter, Denisha Richey, and three grandsons, Richard Lisbon, Bryson Miller, and Aiden Smith; one brother, David Richey (Beverly) and her sister, Tracey Oates; two grandsons and a host of family and friends.  She was proceeded in death by her mother, father, and son Kenneth Richey.
