Deonte’ Anthony Bryant, also known as “Te’Te’,” “Beans,” and “Mr. Dabs,” 25, was born to Terrell and Annette Bryant on April 4, 1998, in Gary, IN. He later moved to Columbus, OH, in 2007.
Deonte’ transitioned peacefully into eternal life at home on Monday, June 26, 2023, due to complications with Becker Muscular Dystrophy.
Deonte’ attended South-Western City Schools until 2013 when he transferred to Haugland Learning Center. He graduated and received his diploma from HLC in 2017. Deonte’ was a very caring, funny, and determined young man who defied the odds and beat the statistics of the illness that struck his body. Instead of giving in to using a wheelchair at the age of 12, he kept fighting and walked on his own until he was 14. From a young age, Deonte’ believed that God would heal him and he would tell his teachers and doctors that he was going to walk again.
Deonte’ loved music and loved playing the keyboard and drums when he was still able to. He would often be found in his room singing and worshipping Jesus. Never once did his strong faith and confidence that the Lord would heal him waiver, even until the day he received his ultimate healing, eternal life in Jesus’ arms and the ability to walk and run around Heaven all day long.
He will be greatly missed.
Deonte’ leaves behind to cherish his memory: his loving and protective father, Terrell Bryant; devoted mom and caregiver, Annette Bryant; brother, Tyree “Walking Tall” Bryant; sister, Talecia “Lil Woman” Bryant; maternal grandparents, Alvin (Deborah) Gibson, Sr., and Rose Gibson; paternal grandmother, Eudora Bryant; uncle, Alvin Gibson, Jr.; aunts, Charie Gibson, Michelle Gibson, and Shelai Bryant; nephew, Ky’len Bryant; special aunts, Cauteenia Gibson and Angel McKinney, and a host of other relatives and loved ones.
