Obituary Sister Edna Anderson, better known as Crissy, departed this life peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 3:55 AM at her home in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 65. She was born to Robert Edwards and Willa Mae Wooden Edwards. Crissy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Samuel and Christine Wooden; parents, Robert and Willa Mae; great-grandbabies, Ka’Liegh Mills and Andriyana Anderson; granddaughter, Robinett McKinney; cousin, Clarence Gossett who passed just hours before her; niece, Nettie Peppers; and nephew, Andre Clayborn.
Sister Crissy Anderson was a faithful member of Emmanuel Memorial Progressive Neo-Pentecostal Church under Elder Deloris Thomas, Executive at Large #1. She served as the chairperson of the Women’s Praise Team. She also served on the Usher Board and the Missionary Board.
She worked hard in making sure her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, like her mother, were at least introduced to Jesus by bringing them to church and getting them to participate in Sunday
School, ushering, and youth day programs. There wasn’t a project in the church to great for Sister Anderson to tackle, from feeding the homeless to having a style show.
Sister Anderson loved to sing God’s praises. She was a member of the very well-known gospel group, the Lyric Supremes, for at least 20 years. Crissy Love, as she was lovingly called by her older sister Deaconess Harrison, was a strong believer that God will take her through. Diagnosed with her condition 20 years ago, she surpassed all her doctors’ expectations. She was truly a fighter. She believed she had to love everyone and help wherever she could because she may need someone’s help. Her favorite song she sang was requested at all her family funerals was “Lord, I Can’t Walk This Highway All By Myself.” She never gave up—she stood on her faith and continued to serve God until He said, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Then He gave her rest and took her soul to her eternal home.
Sister Anderson leaves to cherish: her daughter, Tammara Greathouse; son, Robert (Sherri) Anderson; the grands, Iyawna (Coshee) Foster, LaDazsha Hale, Ty’Sean Grievous, Eshanti, Elijahesa, Tatyana, Kynelle, Kameron, Little Robert, Steven, Alandria, Kierra, Jaida, Kendra, Jayden, Kaiden, Akiiah, Jewelynn, Maria, and Isabelle; great-grands, Ivion, MyMiracle, Nehemiah, Nar’Liegh, Dyshawn, Leovonni, and Jaymier; special children, Darrell Simmons and Dana Powell; siblings, Deacon Cheryl Harrison, Evangelist Brenda Bailey, Evangelist Marie Odoms, Pastor Deborah Pitts, Anthony Edwards Kevin (Brittnie) Odoms, and Samuel (Gina) Odoms III; special sisters, Rhonda Clayborn and Star Franklin; special friends, Gloria, Darlene, Linda, and Larissa; and a host
