Emmet James Evans Jr.

Emmet James Evans, Jr age 80 passed on April 27, 2020 at his home in Leesburg, FL with his loving wife Geraldine Kidd Evans of 31 years by his side. He was born November 11, 1939 in Columbus to the late Emmet J. Evans, Sr and Zula (House) Evans.

Emmet was preceded in death by his grandson, Khalil D Evans.

Survived by sisters, Barbara Jeanne (Romie) Watkins, Blanche (Robert) Little; sister-in-law, Bettie (Mark) Mathews; children, Ida Evans, Tina Evans, Emmet Evans III, Chenise Ballenger-Crump, Michael Penn, Walton "Tony" (LaDwyna) Evans, Zula (Nathan) Pierce, Alan Evans; grandchildren, Raphael Evans, Emmetria Jackson, Briana Evans, Cailyn Evans, Xavier Evans, Denietra Vance-Evans, Natalya Pierce, Mila Pierce, Sierra Pierce, Eleazar Penn, Darius Crump, Kendell Crump, Evan Crump; five great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Mamie L. Jones; father-in-law, Jimmy (Evelyn) Kidd and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Emmet worked in the aircraft industry for Rockwell and Boeing. He retired from The Ohio State University Department of Electrical Engineering. Emmet and Geraldine owned and operated Evans Disposal and Evans Properties. They loved to travel, visiting Europe, Hawaii, Las Vegas and went on many cruises. They traveled cross country in their motorhome and took their grandchildren on many camping trips. After retiring they became snowbirds spending every winter in Florida and moved to Leesburg in 2014.
 

Emmet will be missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
