Erick Peeples

“Surprised" is the word to describe the emotions of Connie Shae (Fuller) Peoples and Tommy Peoples when they found out that after eleven years of parenthood, they were in fact again pregnant. The second surprise was to discover they would be parents to twin boys. 

It is to this backdrop that Erick came into the world followed quickly by Derrick on Saturday, January 15, 1977 at the Ohio State University Hospital. As one would expect "the boys" were happy, curious, and rambunctious kids who kept their parents and grandmothers remarkably busy.

Erick was a product of the Columbus City School system attending Sherwood Middle and Walnut Ridge High school. Erick was the life of every party, loved being around people, he never met a stranger and absolutely loved to laugh! He was a devoted son, grandson, brother, father, and friend. He was always there to offer a helping hand whenever needed. Erick was truly the personification of a "ride or die" friend. He was also an avid home renovator as evidenced by his lovely home. Erick knew everyone and had people to do everything.

On February 13, 2011 God entrusted Erick with the love of his life through the womb of Ronette Belcher-Payne in the form of his only daughter Robyn. He was a fiercely devoted father who lavished his full attention on his daughter. In Erick's eyes Robyn could do no wrong.   Funny story, one day as a baby, after having fed her, Erick was preparing to burp Robyn when all of a sudden, she puked all over his back. Erick simply replied, "It smells good to me!" 

Erick Peeples is preceded in death by his loving mother, Connie Shae (Fuller) Peoples; devoted grandmother, Martha M. Menefee; caring grandfathers, Thomas Peoples and Aaron Fuller; maternal great-grandparents, Elvira Addams and Major Menefee and Maggie and George Fuller; paternal great-grandparents, Nannie Mae (Passmore) Owens and Jerry Owens and Lucinda (Kendricks) and Wash Peoples Jr.; loving aunts, Darlene Van Cleaf and Jerry Lynn Peoples; uncle, Michael E. Menefee; cousins, Marcus, Javon and D. Scott Van Cleaf Sr., Craig Starling, Tanea Staples, and Tameka Gordon.

Erick leaves to cherish his memory his beautiful daughter, Robyn, Grandmother Elizabeth “Momma” Peoples; devoted father, Tommy Peoples Sr (Patricia Burk). brothers Tommy, Jr. and Derrick; sister, Tracy; nephews, T'Juan Sr., T'Juan Jr., Derrick Jr, Marquel Johnson; nieces, T’Leyah Peeples; special cousin, Kresha Belcher: a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, loved ones and friends.
