Gerald was born in Garten, West Virginia, on December 5, 1940, to the late Zack and Ethel Fletcher Booker.
He was funny and always had a happy-go-lucky attitude. Gerald loved to cook. As a teenager, he began working at the Greenbrier Golf Club in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
There he learned to become a chef. He has always been the family chef, and with his organizational and cooking skills, he presided over the many dinners, cookouts, and celebrations over the years.
Gerald was married to Etheleen Vier who preceded him in death. He was the father to five children, Wayne Lamont Booker, Gerald Delinos Booker, Jr., Toni Latasha Booker, Bonita Booker, and son, Gerald Booker III, who preceded him in death. Gerald had 14 grandchildren.
He is survived by his brothers, Clarence and Wilbert, and sister, Bonita Booker Lee.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold, Leonard, Leroy, Matthew, Robert, and Lamon; and sister, Dorothy Booker DuBerry.
Gerald leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and good friends and neighbors.
