JaVonte' DeShawn Giles

JaVonte’ DeShawn Giles was born to Dawn Michelle Giles and Ronald McGill on October 29, 2002.

He attended and graduated from Academy of Urban Scholars High School.  As a young boy he loved football and played Little League Football for the Buckeyes, and he was a great athlete.  He and his cousin took the team to the championship each year.  JaVonte’ worked several jobs until he found the right one.  He finally found his ultimate job of being a father to this pride and joy, Journee.  She meant the world to him.  He loved her unconditionally and was proud to be her father.

JaVonte’ was preceded in death by his father, Ronald McGill; great-grandparents, Lillie Robinson, John Winton, Bettey Timmons, and Raymond Page; and cousin, Osjanique Giles.

He leaves to cherish his memory his only daughter, Journee Giles, mother, Dawn Giles; grandmothers, Elizabeth Winton and Iris Rayford; grandfathers, Willie Dumas, Peter Kleckley; and Ronald Forest; brother, DeMonte Giles, Malik McGill, Mykel McGill; sister, Myecia Glass; uncles Shawn Giles, Makell Parks, and Shawn McGill; special aunt, Stephanie Giles, aunts, Monique  Giles, Feldema Dumas, Sharon Dumas, and Tina Page; god-sister Jayvionna Smith; cousins, Marquel Parks, Myshnique Giles, Makayla Whiteside, Ma’Rage Whiteside, Makinzie Parks, Rayshawn Giles, and My’Layah Gordon.

His life was gone too soon, but he lives on in us, and is Pride and Joy Journee!  He will certainly be missed by all wo had the chance to love and get to know him.
