James Neil Patrick McCluskey age 56 Columbus, Ohio. Passed away on November 28th, 2024, after a sudden heart attack. James was born April 19, 1968, to Mother June McCluskey and Father Winford McCluskey in Rome Georgia.
From an early age James accepted Jesus Christ as his lord's savior. He attended J.C. Murphy High School and received his GED in 1987. After he trained under various mechanics and skilled laborers, all of which helped mold him into the man he had become.
James was a true jack of all trades; his achievements though there were many, they are not easily quantified by measures we often use. Rather, they were embodied in his loving nature, his outgoing spirit, and his relentless support for those he cared for. He was an exceptional father, a protective partner, a caring son, a robust brother, and a loyal friend. He was also a passionate car enthusiast and naturalist, affecting the lives of many in ways they held dear. Whether this was through his work as an accomplished mechanic, detailer, and body technician, or as a beloved dog breeder, James found joy in helping others. And through these endeavors, he left an unforgettable impact on the daily lives of so many by just being himself “ATL.”
James is survived by Mother June McCluskey, two sons Cortez and Matthew McCluskey, Donna McCluskey (Life Partner). As well as his siblings Paul “Peter” (Cynthia) Reese, Charles “Fat” Williams, Felicia “Tracy” McCluskey, Christopher (MJ) McCluskey, and Phillip McCluskey. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he would often encourage and bestow advice upon. His lifelong friends Sorofino Sistrunk Sr., Walter Lee Anderson, Hollis Respress, and Bishop Nathan Hoard were his extended family, a true brotherhood of devoted friends.
James is predeceased by his grandparents Nerve and Alberta Reese, his father Winford McCluskey, and son Cornelius McCluskey.
As we bid farewell to James let us remember him as he would want us to: honest and unapologetically himself. He lived life on his terms, unfettered by the judgments of others, focusing only on what truly mattered. This was a man who held strong faith, and often said the only judgement worth worrying about is God’s.
