James Ross, Jr.

James E. Ross Jr., age 62, was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 11, 1959; passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021. James graduated from Linden McKinley High School. He proudly served in the US Army from 1978-1982. He worked numerous jobs and made countless connections throughout his life. He loved providing for his family, cooking, and shopping. He was a passionate sports fan. He spent many weekends with his children, supporting his grandchildren, and attended football games and cheer events.

Our family was everything to James, he was a confidant and caregiver by nature. He showered his close and distant family with equal love and affection. James was a caring and supportive brother, father, grandfather who was affectionately named "PawPaw", and uncle. He recognized the need to cherish Christ and attended several churches throughout the Columbus, Ohio area.

James leaves to cherish his memory his children, Brandon Ross, Daylan Hawkins, Desiree Hawkins, Dominique Jordan (Kenneth), De’Von Ross, and De’Antwain Ross; grandchildren, Jakya, Iyana, Jakalyn, Amari, Karis, JaKuan, Daylanae, Kennadi, Eliaas, Emil, De’Neiro, and DeMiah.; siblings, Sherri Ross, Sonji Ross, Sheiann Ross, Jerry Ross, and Shantee Tiller; 5 nephews ; 4 nieces, a host of great-nieces, nephews, and close friends.

James is predeceased by his mother Vera Ann Ross-Sowell; father James E. Ross Sr., and brother Jeffery Ross. James, his infectious laugh and welcoming conversation will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him and especially missed by those who had the pleasure of loving him.
