James Medford Smith

James M. Smith peacefully departed this world on November 30, 2023, on at home to be with his mother whom he took care of during her illness.

He was born on September 11, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio to Vivian and Andrew Smith, Sr.

James was in a bad car accident, where he had to learn to walk all over again but made a full recovery.  James, lovingly known as “Jimi” to his friends and family was known as a very loving person and always helped others when needed.

James was employed for over twenty years and retired from Wexner Heritage Village where he was admired by many of the residents and staff.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Vivian Smith; father, Andrew Smith, Sr.; and his niece, Chelsey Radcliff.

He is survived by his sister, Pamela (Kevin) Owens; sister, Debra Blakey; brother, Andrew L. Smith, Jr.; sister, Angela Ervin; brother, David Smith; and sister, Roxanne Madison; and a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Eric Collins, Jerry Tyndall, Kevin Lane, Diane and Tasha Foster.
