In Loving Memory of Jermaine Lamar Parks Sr
Jermaine Lamar Parks Sr, born on May 27th, 1970, in Columbus, Ohio, was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend who left us all too soon. He was the cherished child of Beverly Ann Parks and Gene Porter and grew up in the close-knit community of Windsor Terrace. Jermaine's life was marked by passion, determination, and a laid-back charm that endeared him to all who knew him.
He completed his early education at Windsor Elementary before graduating from Whetstone High School in 1988. During his high school years, Jermaine was not only a dedicated student but also an accomplished athlete, participating in football and track, showcasing his natural talent and commitment to excellence.
After high school, he continued his education at Technical college for two years before embarking on the journey of fatherhood. His daughter, Alexis, was born in 1991, and Jermaine embraced the responsibilities of parenthood with unwavering love and dedication.
Throughout his life, Jermaine worked diligently, contributing to both the Post Office and General Motors, where his strong work ethic and dedication were evident to all who worked alongside him.
In his leisure time, Jermaine found solace in the rhythm of music and the camaraderie of friends, often spending hours shooting pool and enjoying the company of his close-knit group, including Dion Drakeford, Jonathan Flowers, Victor, Miceles Gover, Kevin Hart, and Tracy Broomfield.
Those who knew Jermaine will always remember his cool and laid-back demeanor, as well as his sharp sense of style that he would often proudly describe as "fly." His warm smile and friendly nature could brighten anyone's day.
Jermaine is survived by his loving children: Alexis Graham, Jermaine L. Parks Jr., Tahj Brown, Tianna Brown, and Jacklynn Parks. He leaves behind his sister, Cherrita Parks (Arnold Morris), and brothers Dequrick Porter, Juwan Porter, Keenan Porter, Treasury Porter, and Travion Porter. Close Friend Joi Graham. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kenna Porter, his mother, Beverly Parks, and his father, Gene Porter, as well as his grandmother, Bernice Knaff. He is also remembered by his nephew, Brandyn Parks, and niece, Anasia Parks-Morris, along with a host of cherished cousins and other family members.
Jermaine's legacy extends to his grandson, Jah’aer Barker, and his grandfather, Fredrick Parks Sr. His memory will be forever cherished by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
Rest in peace, Jermaine Lamar Parks Sr. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
