Jerome Gordon

Jerome L. Gordon affectionately known as dude was born May 9, 1972, in Columbus, Ohio, to Deborah and Jerome “Karo” Gordon. His father passed away early and Jerome spent most of his early years with his mother; brother, Daryel “Spanky” Gordon; and a host of extended family and friends. He attended and graduated from Walnut Ridge High School and became an active member of the community, serving as a football coach, a mentor, and confidant for many throughout his years.

Besides spending time with family and friends, Dude was passionate about many things and had a wide variety of interests including the culinary arts, cars, gaming, football, dogs, and anime, especially Dragon Ball Z. He had a bright and energetic presence, with a laugh that sparked a smile in everyone he met. Dude impacted people with his ability to support them in bad times, always offering a helping hand, even if he was experiencing tough times himself. He will forever be remembered for his loving heart and passion for life.

On June 28, 2024, at Grant Hospital Jerome responded to the sweet call of our Savior bidding him to come home and find rest. Although we miss him here, we realize God is all knowing and makes no mistakes. Jerome was greeted at Heaven’s gates by family and reunited with his mother Deborah Gordon; father, Jerome “Karo” Gordon; brother Daryel “Spanky” Gordon; sons, Brandon Hoston and Deonte Smith; Grandparents and a host of other relatives.

Jerome leaves to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy his life partner, Sherri Smith; children, Daiza Hoston, Marcus Hoston, Essence Padgett, Heaven Scales, Jerome Gordon II, Mahogany Gordon, Myzarome Gordon, Mytaiza Gordon, and MyLeah Gordon; grandchildren, Daizohn Johnson, Gary Johnson, Isaiah Stromer, and Major Gordon; Stepfather: Kenny Biven and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
