Obituary

John R. Hutcherson, MCPO Ret. was born on January 14, 1925, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Willie and Gladys Lewis Hutcherson. He was their only child. John accepted Jesus as Lord and was baptized as a young man. He attended public schools in New Orleans, Louisiana. After graduating from high school, he began a 30-year career in the United States Navy. He served in three wars: World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. His career took him around the world. A few of his posts included Hawaii, Guam, the Philippines, and Kwajalein Atoll. He was very proud of his service to his country. Even as his health declined, calling him “Master Chief” would instantly bring a smile to his face.

After leaving the Navy, he found success as a real estate professional in Southern California. He earned his broker’s license and opened his own real estate office where he specialized in commercial and residential real estate property management. He was a multi-million dollar salesperson. He served as a charter member of the Fair Housing Task Force for Riverside County. He also served as president and secretary of the Sun City- Perris Association of Realtors and chairman of the Equal Opportunity, Membership, and Policy Committee of the Riverside and Sun City
Association of Realtors.

He married as a young man. He and his first wife, Virginia, were the proud parents of their daughter, Nadine. Virginia preceded him in death. A dedicated family man, he later married Nathalee. Together they raised her granddaughter, Nicole Wilson. Nathalee also preceded him in death. In 1996, he married his beloved Hilda. John and Hilda had a loving and fun-filled marriage until his recent transition. As a couple, the two enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, and attending church.

John had many interests. He was a sports enthusiast. He knew all the stats on his favorite teams and players. He had also recently developed his artistic talents by painting. He was particularly fond of painting birds. He was always a faithful church member. Prior to his decline in health, he had served as a trustee and member of the choir. He had a beautiful singing voice. In fact, he and Hilda enjoyed singing in the choir at their church in California. He was a member of Vineyard Community Church at the time of his passing.

John leaves a great legacy in his family and community. Among those who will cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 27 years, Hilda; daughters, Nadine Plymale and Dawn Dolly (Arlen); grandchildren, Angelina Conway (John), Darlene Kasak, Nicole Wilson, Jonathan Keevis (Doreen), Joseph Koscielniak, Sampson Dolly, Alexandra Dolly, Sydney Dolly, and Kurdeliah Abdullah; ten great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a multitude of other relatives, friends, and associates.

John “Hutch” Hutcherson loved his family and friends dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
