John Lee Woods

John Lee “Dokom” Woods Sr. was born January 8, 1967, in Columbus, Ohio.   He was the first-born son of 20 children to Inez Teague, and 2 additional siblings with Father Willie Edwards.  He was peacefully called home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2024, at the age of 57 years young. 

John was gifted at working with his hands. He put that gift to use by not only working at various jobs throughout his life, but he was also an entrepreneur and completed commercial and residential lawncare work.

He was a loving father of 7 beautiful children, and 14 grandchildren, whom he cared for with all his heart. John loved to sing, listen to jazz, and cook. His favorite go to meal was peanut butter, Jelly sandwich and coffee.

John is preceded in death by Parents Inez Teague & Willie Edwards’s. Brother Andrew Teague, Sister Schree Robinson, Son John L. Wood III.

John leaves behind to cherish his memory his children Iesha Hairston (Herbert Jacobs), Kevin Deon Dixon, Johnathan Lee Hairston, John Lee Woods’, Latoya (Calvin) Bester. His loving fiancé’ Leona Taylor and 6 bonus children, and a host of other family members, nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

John memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, may he rest in peace.
