Johnny became a member of Mt. Gerizim Baptist Church on August 1st, 1996. He was a former employee of the House of Foam, where he met his devoted wife, Joyce Johnson.
Johnny’s hobbies were fishing and hunting. He was also a member of the Tro- jans.
He leaves to mourn his passing: daughter, Cheryl Merritt (Marshall) Alston Columbus, OH; son, Raymond (Amanda) Johnson of Columbus, OH; grand- children, Tijon, Ashley, Dejha, Niraiya, Danaya, and Breanna; great-grand- children, Carter, Kayden, and Zion; sisters, Marilyn R. Dixon of Chattanooga, TN, and Barbara Merritt Hollins of Columbus, OH; aunts, Daisy M. Palmer and Madeline Milligan, both of Columbus, OH; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
God saw the road we getting rough, the hill was hard to climb. He gently closed those loving eyes and whispered, “Peace be Thine.” The weary hours, the days of pain, the sleepless nights are passed, the ever-patient, worn-out frame has found sweet rest at last. His life was a beautiful memory. His absence gives silent grief. He sleeps in God’s Beautiful Garden. In sunshine of perfect peace.
