Jon Edward Small, Sr.

Jon Edward Small, Sr. was born on April 29, 1961, in Columbus, to the late Charles L. Small, Sr. and Carolina (Labro) Small. He peacefully departed this life on June 8, 2026.

Jon earned an Associate Degree from ITT Technical Institute and worked as a press operator for Eaton Crouse-Hinds in Syracuse, New York for many years. He was later employed by EMS vending services in Columbus, Ohio. Jon was a caring father whose family meant everything to him. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carol Timmons-Small of Syracuse, New York; his sons, Jamar Enrie Small, and Jon Edward Small, Jr.; and his sisters, Enriqueta (Daniel) Bivens, and Teresa Dixon of Texas.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Jayshawn and Janae (mother, Carol Timmons-Small), Zion, Royale, and Eddie (mother, Carmen Higgins); his beloved grandchildren, Jamir, Jacelyn, JayShawn Jr., Aeneas, Aveline, and Shyanne; his siblings, Charles (Carolyn) Small, Jr., Julie (Glen) Martin of Arizona, and Randall Small of Texas; the mother of his late son, Carolyn “Vanessa” Medley (Jon Small, Jr.), and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Jon will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A memorial reception will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at New Horizon Christian Fellowship located at 1428 Fairwood Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43206.
