Joseph Eugene Green, well-known as “Joe Green” departed this life peacefully Wednesday, November 9th in his Columbus, Ohio home at the age of 76. He was proceeded in death by his parents James Henry Green Sr. and Helen M Martin Green-Alexander, sisters Shirley “Tootie” Pinager, Barbara J, Juanita “Nita” Smith, Helen M “Chicken” Alexander, Brothers James H Jr. and Robert N Green. Also special life partner Annie L. Pace, his close cousin and friend Walter Boudurant Jr. Also Grandsons Mi’Quis Shepherd and DaQuan Kurtz.
Joe’s life is being celebrated by Sons Joseph E, James N, Kevin L, LaMar W, Jermaine T and Kenny L (Erica) Langhorne. Also Wendy E Green-Jacobs, a bonus daughter Cathy Green and five stepdaughters, Sisters Beverly J, Linda D and Patricia A “Cookie” (Kevin) Edwards. Grandkids Avery, Gregory, Noelle Bryant, Megan, Temesha, Lamar Jr, Jasmine (Chris), Jordan, Jovonte, Jermaine Jr, Selena, Janay, Janese, Aireonia, twins Kai and Kalei, Armani, Dalen, and Ameir. Also Kenyonna and Keniyah Langhorne. Great grandkids Damoni, Kayan, Gia, Germani, Jovaugh, Amira, Akira, and Aubrey, Mi’yanna plus others not mentioned. A host of nephews, nieces, greats and great-great, 1st cousins and the family matriarch Aunt Rosetta “Toots” Hall.
Joe attended Linden McKinley HS where he was known for his basketball skills and art. He was a living legend to his peers known for his superior basketball skills and being well-known throughout the city. In his spare time he loved drawing, watching movies and playing a good game of 8ball. Joseph worked numerous jobs from Buckeye Steel, Federal Glass, Weinman Pump and then retired from Cap & Associates Inc. Joe loved his family and friends and adored his sisters where you could catch him popping up on them any given weekend to enjoy a tall glass.
In closing we would like to give special thanks to Linda Green, Wendy Green Jacobs, James Jacobs, Lamar Green, Megan Bell and Selena Green for the extra attention he was given in his ending years. We would also like to thank all the prayer warriors that kept him lifted in prayer.
