Juan Morton, Sr

Juan Morton, Sr., was born September 16, 1971, in Columbus, Ohio,and went home on June 6, 2022, to be with his mother, Phyllis Brogdon, father, Arnette Brogdon, Jr., brother, Shawn Morton, sister, Jennifer “Mikey” Rencher, and daughter, Tamara Dodson.

Juan grew up in the Milo-Grogan neighborhood where a lot of friends became his family. He was involved in a terrible car accident in 2007, from which he had to learn to walk all over again and caused him numerous health issues. Juan was definitely known to everyone for his very distinctive scraggly voice. He was a big sports fan, and his favorite teams were the LA Lakers and Dallas Cowboys. He could sit and watch Gunsmoke all day long. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his grandkids.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Tia; daughter, Brittany; son, Juan “Jay;” grandchildren, Jayani, Jayire, Ja’naiah, JayV’aun, and Jayceon; sister, Cheryl Brogdon; brothers, Arnette Brogdon III and Kevin Morton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Rest peacefully. We know you and Shawn are back together again.
