Keith Davis Obituary

Raymond Keith Davis was born on December 10, 1976, to Michael and Deborah Davis. He was

the youngest of three children. He was educated in the Columbus City Schools. He grew up in Southfield and was proud of the roots and upbringing that growing up in that community afforded him. It was there that he developed a sense of family and commitment.

Keith was a thriving entrepreneur, having owned several businesses in Columbus. He had a huge heart and was very caring. He was the ultimate provider and protector. He did not play when it came to his wife, his children, grandson, and his mother. He had the ability to light up a room with his big personality. He was the life of the party. Whenever he was around, there was never a dull moment. He was cool, funny, and very innovative. He was a wise man and always shared great nuggets to those who would listen and implement his advice. He was one who never met a stranger and had a natural ability to connect with those who came in contact with. If he liked you, it was evident in his interaction. If he did not like you... well, you certainly knew it.

He was a fan of the Raiders and loved watching football. He was an avid card player and loved playing poker. He considered himself an educated gambler. He enjoyed good food from some of the best chefs and culinary experiences. He was hardworking and believed in putting in the effort to get ahead in life. He believed in having the best and the finest of everything. He worked diligently to provide a good and substantial life for his family.

He met Lisa Hairston, the love of his life, in May of 2000. It was from that moment on that they were inseparable in planning and building a life together. They experienced many things together, and those memorable moments will be cherished and last a lifetime. Keith was proud of his sons’ accomplishments and their desire to be entrepreneurs as well. He adored his grandson and wanted to mold him into the next superstar. Keith will be missed for his impact on the lives of those who were fortunate to experience his energy and his contagious personality.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Davis, Sr.; grandmothers, Ola Mae Brooksa and Thelma “Chicken” Davenport; grandfather, Raymond Charles Brooks, Jr.; uncles, Charles “Tony” Brooks, Eugene Daniels, William Keith Davis, Miles Davis, Sr., and Carl Davenport; aunt, Daisy Davenport; nephew, Jeremiah Williams; and cousins, Miles Davis, Jr., Bryant Davis, and Dwayne Gray.
