Kevin V. Darthard Sr.

Mr. Kevin Verse Darthard, sr. was born June 20, 1956, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the only son of four children born to Charles Verse and Dardanella Darthard. Kevin entered into his eternal rest on June 17, 2022. Affectionally known as “Bubbie” by family, he attended South High School in Columbus, Ohio. Kevin was a hard worker throughout his life, most notably being an employee of the 7-Up Company and Confluence Park for a number of years. He attended Tabernacle Baptist Church throughout his teen years and was baptized in the Christian faith later in life. He was an avid OSU and Indiana Colts Fan.

Kevin is survived by: his longtime love and helpmate of 30 years, Ms. Mary Lee; his son, Mr. Kevin Darthard, Jr., Charles Lee, and Jennetta Lee; grandson, Kevin Darthard III; sisters, Mrs. Charlene D. (Rudy) Dalton and Ms. Dana Y. Darthard; and numerous beloved nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and neighbors.

Kevin was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; his parents, Mr. Charles Verse and Mrs. Dardanella Darthard; sister, Mrs. Tommye Jennings; great-nephew, Ricky A. Darthard; mother of Mary Lee, Mrs. Jessie Lee; close and dear friend, Mr. Agnes; a beloved aunt, Zeeta Sydnor; and uncle, Jessie Lowery of Indianapolis, Indiana and friend Curt Chambers.
Kevin never met a stranger. He loved dancing, bringing laughter to others, and enjoying life! The family and loved ones are thankful that Kevin is enjoying his new life and freedom through Christ Jesus, his Lord and Savior.

Jesus comforts His disciples: “Do not let your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. My Father’s House has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with e that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” John 14:1-4.
