Kia Shannon

KIA SHANNON was born on July 29, 2010. She passed away on November 4, 2025.  Kia was a cherished daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, and classmate whose warmth and enthusiasm touched everyone who knew her. A sophomore at Linden McKinley High School and an honor roll student, Kia was known for her curiosity, quick wit, and commitment to her studies. She served
on the student council and distinguished herself academically.

Outside the classroom, Kia’s passions were varied and many. She loved spending time with her dad and could often be found playing the cymbals and doing studies with her dad. Kia also liked learning how to drive as a way to relax and connect. She devoted countless hours to being with the school band and going to different states to do band battle.

Kia is survived by her dad, Kareem A. Shannon; mom, Shanay White; older sister, Pearl White; many aunts, cousins, and uncles; and her Linden McKinley High School classmates and who will forever cherish her memory.
