Kristal LaNae' Reed

Kristal LaNae’ Reed was born on March 30, 1984, in Canton, Ohio, to Deborah Reed and Leroy Rolland Sr. She resided in Columbus, Ohio, where she peacefully departed this earthly home on January 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Kristal was a proud graduate of McKinley Senior High School in Canton, Ohio, where she was actively involved in the band and numerous social clubs. Her vibrant personality and love for people were evident even in her youth.

In 2024, Kristal earned her Associate Degree from Columbus State Community College. She was an integral and deeply respected member of the Deaf and Interpreter Community, a community she truly cherished. Kristal served as a gateway between worlds, using her knowledge, compassion, and heart to bring people together.

A woman of strong faith, Kristal was a devoted member of Hebrew Missionary Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio, for many years. She faithfully served in the choir and various ministries, finding joy and purpose in worship and service.

Kristal enjoyed singing, dancing, cleaning, cooking, signing, writing poetry, and spending quality time with her family. She especially loved walking her favorite four-legged son, Rocko, whom she adored. Known for her infectious laugh, bubbly spirit, and outgoing personality, Kristal was truly the life of the party and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Kristal was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmother, Roseanna Gravely; maternal grandmother, Edna Reed; maternal grandfather, Niles Reed; great-aunt, Barbara Card; and stepfather, James Richard Hall.

Kristal leaves to cherish her precious memories her two beloved daughters, Kamaria and Kamani Moore, both of the home; her mother, Deborah Reed Hall; her father, Leroy Rolland Sr.; her siblings, Kamesha Reed, Kasual Reed Sr., Tiffany Rolland, Leroy Rolland, and Phillip Rolland.

She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Kenyatta Reed (Roderic) Swiner II, Jasmine Reed, Illeana Prewitt, Myana Rolland, Aubrianna Rolland, Deiondre Reed, Quandez Reed, DeMarion Reed, Kasual Reed Jr., and Phillip Rolland Jr. (deceased); and her honorary daughters, Tiasha Love and Rehanna Wooden.

Kristal shared a very special bond and many devoted years of friendship with Doron Polk. She also leaves to cherish her memory her lifelong best friends, Ebony Martin, Shira Franks, and Jasmine Robinson, as well as her very close friend Adawnte “Boom” Thomas.

In addition, she leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, church family, co-workers, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Kristal’s life was filled with love, laughter, faith, and connection. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit, joy, and legacy will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.
