It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved LARRY
LATREL “TREL” PARKS, who left us far too soon at the age of 24. From a young age, it was clear that Larry had a heart full of love and a spirit that radiated warmth. He was a proud graduate of Whitehall Yearling Highschool, where he was actively involved in football and basketball—sports that reflected his strength, teamwork, and determination. He also had a special love for bowling, often enjoying friendly competition with his family and friends, creating memories full of laughter and joy.
At just 18 years old, Larry began working at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. What started as a young man eager to prove himself quickly blossomed into a career defined by integrity and purpose. He didn’t work for praise or accolades he worked with pride, consistently putting care and intention into everything he did. From the smallest tasks to the biggest responsibilities, Larry gave his all.
Known to many as an “old soul” in a young body, Larry “Trel” carried a quiet wisdom and a presence that brought comfort to those around him. He was our gentle giant, our teddy bear—always ready with a warm hug, a helping hand, or simply a listening ear. His empathy ran deep, and his heart—the biggest and most generous—loved unconditionally.
Larry shared a deep, unbreakable bond with his mother, a connection that was truly special and beautiful to witness. Their love was pure and endless, built on trust, laughter, and unwavering support. There was no greater joy for Larry than simply being near his mom—her presence was his peace.
In his free time, Larry loved watching sports, being the family DJ, cooking, and spending quality time with the people he cherished most. Whether offering words of encouragement, a quiet presence, or a shared laugh, Larry was always there, never asking for anything in return, just happy to be of comfort.
Larry’s time with us was far too short, but his impact will be everlasting. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving family, friends, coworkers, and all whose lives he touched with his kindness and light.
Larry was preceded in death by his grandfather, Freeman Booker, Jr.; father, Larry DeWayne Parks; uncle, Darshawn Perry, Sr; and cousin, Ebony Davis.
