Lucille Bernice Bivens was born on June 14, 1921, in Greenup County, Kentucky to Donald Martin, and Blanche Kibby-Martin.
She graced the earth and lived a beautiful long life for 100 years. On October 19, 2021, Lucille Bivens passed away peacefully in her sleep. Lucille married William Bivens who served our country in the United States Army during World War II. He passed away in 1951.
Lucille was a staple to the community both on Edwards Street, and Linwood Avenue. Lucille was a marvelous mother to 13 children, despite her very large family. Lucille always made time and room to welcome anyone into her home. Lucille loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals and traditions for her family, friends, and the entire neighborhood on Sundays, holidays or any given occasion. Lucille’s favorite holiday was Christmas. She enjoyed preparing a large family feast, putting up a tree and festive decorations. If you were blessed with an opportunity to visit her home, you could look forward to her open arms, her comforting smiling face, sound advice and many laughs.
She is preceded in death by husbands, Winford and Paul; sons, Calvin Bivens, Victor Bivens, Ronald Bivens; daughters, LaVonne Moore, Charlene Harrell, Beverly Peck, Francis Martin; granddaughter, Sana Bivens; grandsons, Harry Peck, Donald Bivens, Rondell Brinkley, Calvin Reynolds; great granddaughter, Javona Dawson; great grandsons, Judah Haskins, Deandre Alston; brother, Francis Martin; sister, Mary French, Katherine Martin, Lilian Martin and June Martin.
