Michael Beasley

Michael James Beasley was born to Sammye Nutter and Charles Beasley on June 9, 1964 and departed this life on February 1, 2020.

Michael attended the Columbus Public School system and was a proud graduate of East High School in 1982. Michael begin his early career at the Columbus Dispatch and later went on to work at TechnoGlass until his injury in 1995.

Michael was driven and approached any adversity with a strength and spiritual guide; even taking on a job at Central Ohio Vision Center, which he enjoyed. Michael loved cooking and most of his friends and family knew him as the Rib King. His ribs were as tender and spicy as his personality and spirit. There was none that could compare to the determination that Michael James Beasley possessed. Michael also enjoyed horse back riding, old school music, eating and visiting family and friends. His outgoing personality took him on journeys throughout Columbus, Ohio never meeting a stranger.

One of the proudest moments was when he became a grandfather! He was proud to affectionally be called “Gramps”. Being a grandfather touched his heart in a way that only an angel could. All the people that Michael touched will always remember that their lives are greater because he was a part of their world.

Michael is preceded in death in by his parents; Sammye Nutter and Charles Beasley, special sister and friend Lisa Butler and a niece and nephew.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory; daughter Jayme M. Johnson; granddaughter Jaibryn Lampkins; siblings, James (Bernadette) Nutter, Lynn (Chrissy) Nutter, Charles Nutter and Mary (Pamela) Nutter. special sister Nene, mom, Sharon; Mother Jamieson, a host of nieces and nephews and extended brothers Michael Callendar, Mike Stanhope, Bimbo, Batman and Kevin.
