Michael Craig Simmons

Our beloved Michael Craig Simmons tragically left us on Saturday August 3, 2024, at the age of 28. He was born on July 10, 1996, in Columbus, Ohio to Kimberly Heavenly Craig Washington and Michael Simmons.

Mikey attended Fairmoor Elementary (his favorite teacher was Ms. Scott), Johnson Park Middle School, Afrocentric High School, graduated from LifeSkills Academy and had a love for football and basketball. At the age of 7, Mikey started his love for football where he played for the Nubian's. Mikey also played football for Afrocentric in his teen years. His love for football was passed down to his sons. Mikey confessed his life to Christ at an early age and attended Cornerstone Pentecostal Church in Columbus, Ohio, under the leadership of Bishop W.L. Butler, Sr.

Mikey brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with his kind heart, radiant smile, sway, and funny personality. Mikey was the must handsome man, loving, genuine, sensitive person, and rode for the ones he loved. Mikey loved to look fly with his style of dressing, love to dance even though he really couldn't, and shared a birthday month with some of his kids, his sister and one of his cousins. 

He is preceded in death by mother, Kimberly Heavenly Craig Washington, and sister Heaven Marie Craig Simmons.

He leaves a legacy through his father Michael Simmons; children, Mikeya Simmons, Taeveon Wiggins, Michael Simmons Jr., Loyal Turner, Mi'Ajia Bowman-Simmons, DaMy'la Simmons, and Mi'Kariyon Simmons; Fiancé Darquaisha Matthews; siblings, Symiah Campbell, Isaiah Campbell, Dheya Campbell, Angel Watkins, Destiney Milloy Simmons, Courtney Gray Jr., and Myah Elder, he also leaves behind grandparents, a bonus parent, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a lot of friends.
