Nina Mae Thornton was born May 8, 1948, to the late David Williams, Sr., and departed this life on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at the age of 72. Nina confessed her hope in the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. She was a member of Restoration Christian Center, Pastor Alonzo James, and never stopped trusting in the Lord.
Nine loved her husband, Charles, dearly. Their union endured for 35 years. Their love was special. She had one son, Walter R. Bowman.
Nina began her education in the public schools of Columbus, Ohio, including Milo Elementary, Everett Junior High, and East High School. She graduated from Columbus State in 1994.
Nina worked as a social worker at the Rebecca’s Place for Homeless Women. She loved helping people, watching TV and movies with Charles, cooking, and being on Facebook, checking on all the grandkids of all her siblings. She was the big little sister, head of the family reunion, etc.
Nina was preceded in death by: her father, David Williams, Sr.; sisters, Rosemary Tanks, Delores Johnson, and Wanda Thomas; brother, David Williams, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Barbara Reed Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory: beloved mother, Loretta Williams-Robinson; husband, Charles Thornton; son, Walter R. Bowman; brothers, Curtis Williams and Mark Anthony Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
