A Time to Be Born...
Ottis Eudell “Coach Boo” Calloway was born April 26, 1975, to Roseann and Marvin Calloway, Sr. Ottis, affectionally known as “Coach Boo,” was the next to last, being the eighth child of nine siblings.
A Time to Live...
Coach Boo was a true fighter and had been fighting sickle cell disease since he was eight months old. He did not allow the disease to hinder him from living a full life. Ottis met and married the love of his lifeof 21 years, Katie Calloway. He was a loving and awesome husband, a great father, and a wonderful papa. Coach Boo was a defensive coach for the Southside Seminoles 110 weight class for fifteen years. During his tenure in the position, his love and passion touched many young people’s lives. He showed the youth that no matter the situation, if you put your mind and heart in something, you can prevail. Once he stopped coaching, he went on to work at Sam’s Club. Some of his favorite pastimes were cooking, watching sports, and most of all, spending time with family, friends, and seeing his grandchildren grow. Coach Boo in the last year of his life decided to take his family and relocate to Georgia. Even with him living in another state, he was still a diehard Buckeyes fan.
