Obituary

Veronica Elizabeth Holloman was born on January 9, 1942 to Jerry Aaron Holloman Sr. and Evelyn Louise Dowdy in Columbus, Ohio. 

She graduated from Central high school in 1961.  After high school she received an associate in Early Childhood Education from Ohio State University and Bachelor of Science from Wilberforce University after she retired.

On a warm day in October, Rahanni give birth to her beautiful daughter Aanika Kai Aissata Holloman-Rahanni, born on October 23, 1973.  Motherhood was a joy for her as she watched her daughter grow and develop. To her spending time with her daughter was a precious gift and at night she would read to her about all the wonderful histories of African people. She made the decision to join the Universal Hagar Spiritual Association early in Aanika’s life. Later on, she graduated from The School of Mediumship and Psychology. She also changed her name to Rahanni Kai Aissata Aanika because of her love for African culture.  She was part of many originations throughout her life.  

In 1983, her daughter and her traveled to Granada, West Indies for an education exchange endeavor. It was a major learning experience for them.  It was important to her to implement the “Rites of Passage Programs” in the State of Ohio. She worked with people to make it happen.  The first “Rites of Passage Programs” for the State of Ohio was started in Columbus in 2000.  She was an educator, a mother, a daughter, a personable woman and a determined peacemaker. She was always working for a better physical and spiritual world for the generations to come.

On May 25, 2021, Rahanni, was called Home.  She is preceded in death by: her parents; sister and brother-n-law, Delores H. and Frantz Mentor; brother and sister-n-law, Antonio and Helena Jenkins; nephew Pierre Belizaire.

Rahanni leaves to cherish her memory  daughter, Aanika Rahanni; brother, Jerry Holloman Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nephew, relatives, and friends.
