Randolphus Jeter entered into eternal rest on the evening of Tuesday February 13, 2024 following a brief illness. He was born on April 21, 1932 in Carlisle, SC as the 7th of 12 children to the
late Robert Z. and Letha (Booker) Jeter.
Randolphus, affectionately known as “Teet, T, Uncle Teet, T Bird Mr.Jeter, Brother Jeter, Randy and Granddaddy,” left Carlisle, traveled by train and moved to Ohio, eventually settling in Columbus in the early 1950s. In 1954, Teet married Lenora (Johnson) and to this union, they had one daughter.
His 37-year career with Timken Roller Bearings began in 1952 where he held various positions, but his final position and one he was most proud of was being a fork lift operator. Following retirement, Teet wanted to continue in the workforce as many know, he liked to move and keep busy. So, in 1992 he served as the head custodian for Christ United Methodist Church where he
remained until his second retirement in 2016.
Brother Jeter loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Oakley Full Gospel Baptist Church for over 30 years, where he attended regularly and served on the Usher Board until his illness. Brother Jeter was known as an usher who would pride himself on order, precision, and great service. Brother Jeter enjoyed being a sharp dresser and never ceased to amaze, with his well-coordinated suits, ties, hats and socks. Granddaddy was an extremely kind, generous and loving person who adored his family and friends. You truly felt like family and felt love when you were around him. Granddaddy enjoyed watching westerns, listening to country music, gospel quartets and dancing. He will be forever missed by all who have been blessed to know him.
